"In order to ensure successful and professional management of the Agency, we are appointing to its Management Board professionals with a wide range of competences, with experience in tourism, development and establishment of public information systems, marketing and communication, finance and strategic planning and management. We expect the new board members to make a significant contribution to the smooth and efficient development of Lithuania travel, contributing to the strengthening of Lithuanian tourism after the difficulties of the past years", - says Karolis Žemaitis, Vice-Minister of the Economy and Innovation.
Olga Gončarova, Head of Lithuania travel, hopes that the new Board will further strengthen the organisation of the agency's activities and help it to achieve even better results.
"I am happy to see that the team is made up of really experienced professionals from different fields, whose experience will be useful not only in developing the long-term strategy of the organisation, but also in the implementation of the activities and strategic decision-making. "Lithuania travel team has an important mission in spreading information about Lithuania as an attractive tourism destination, so I have no doubt that with this reinforcement, we will achieve even better results together," says the Head of Lithuania travel.
The Agency's Board consists of seven members: four independent members and three persons delegated by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation. The Ministry is represented on the Board by Gina Jaugielavičienė, Head of the Economic Development Group, Lidija Bajarūnienė, Chief Specialist of the Economic Development Group, and Eimantas Norkūnas, Adviser to the Minister of Environment.
Žygimantas Pupelis, who has more than 15 years of international experience in IT and tourism, has become an independent member of the Board. Currently, Ž. Pupelis is the head of the innovative product development teams that create innovations for one of the world's largest aviation groups, International Airlines Group.
Olga Belova, a marketing specialist and Baltic marketing manager at Coral Travel Group, with extensive experience in solving local and inbound tourism problems and promoting tourism, has also been elected a member of the Board.
The third member is Sigita Rudzevičienė, General Manager of the only Marriott hotel in Lithuania, the world's largest hotel chain. Ms Rudzevičienė represents Lithuania in international hotel initiatives in best practice, innovation working groups, marketing and strategy sessions.
The fourth member of the Board of Lithuania travel is Tomas Tamulevičius, the creator and developer of the mobile application-virtual guide platform Tripsolo, a lecturer at SMK High School.
Lithuania travel, the National Tourism Promotion Agency of Lithuania, is a public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, responsible for the marketing of the country's tourism both abroad and in Lithuania. The strategic objective of Lithuania travel is to raise the profile of Lithuania as an attractive tourism destination on the world tourism map and to stimulate inbound and domestic tourism flows.
Board members are elected for a four-year term. Participation in the activities of the Board of "Lithuania travel" is unpaid.
