"In order to improve international passenger transport between the three Baltic States, as well as to encourage travel by environmentally friendly railways, we are proposing the creation of a passenger train route connecting the capitals of the Baltic States – from the Lithuanian side, we are ready for the Vilnius-Riga-Tallinn train to start running in the nearest future, but this requires agreement among all the Baltic States," says Minister Skuodis.
On Monday in Estonia, Ministers Marius Skuodis, Jānis Vitenbergs and Riina Sikkut will also discuss accelerated implementation of the Rail Baltica project, further support for Ukraine and the development of additional transport links between the ports of the Baltic Sea countries and Ukraine, and relevant regional and European agenda items.
The Ministers will also discuss issues of increasing the resilience of the transport sector and cooperation in international organisations.
