The Minister will travel to the capital of Poland by train via the new route Vilnius–Kaunas–Mockava–Warsaw, which was launched last December.
The International Conference Railway Direction Days 2023 in Warsaw, which will take place on 18 January, will host discussions between political, military and transport experts and leaders on the development of the railway sector in the 3Seas region, which encompasses 12 European Union (EU) countries located between the Baltic, Black, and Adriatic seas. Minister Skuodis will participate in a panel discussion on ‘The importance of railway projects in the 3Seas region for strengthening security and resilience of the EU and its neighbors’.
During the visit, the Minister plans to meet with Catherine Trautmann, the European Commission’s Coordinator for Rail Baltica, a European gauge railway project of strategic importance to Lithuania, Marcin Horała, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy, as well as the heads of LOT Polish Airlines.
