The President and the EU Commissioner discussed the European Union’s support for Ukraine, EU infrastructure projects of relevance to the Baltic states, as well as energy and climate policy issues.
The President stressed the importance of continuing and stepping up EU assistance to Ukraine and the effective implementation of the already adopted decisions. Gitanas Nausėda and the Commissioner discussed the EU’s climate policy objectives and the solutions proposed in the current context.
“We must assess the proposed actions in the context of both the war and the price of energy resources. We need to ensure that energy poverty does not increase and that the decisions taken protect the most vulnerable,” President Gitanas Nausėda pointed out.
