It is the fifth largest financing segment in the budget. The increased budget funding for defence will enable further implementation of major projects the Armed Forces needs that respond to the 21st century geopolitical situation and existing potential threats.
The scope of long-term defence financing projection is necessary to reach the following results: to have an operational mid-range air defence system and provide infantry fighting vehicles for units on standby for NATO and rapid response forces in 2022, to reconstruct MCM ship capability and put up three military villages in 2023, to fulfill the battalion group commitment to NATO , install recognized maritime picture capability,, and provide armored ATVs for units declared for NATO and rapid response forces in 2024. Also, procurement of the IFVs and armored ATVs would enter second phases with equipping the entire armed forces with them by 2031 in view. It is also planned to restore the mid-range radar capability by 2025 and develop fire support capability.
