“Our goal during this year’s negotiations was to meet the maximum needs of Lithuanian carriers and to ensure proper conditions for their continuous operation and competitiveness. Travel permits have already reached Lithuania. Joint institutional work and its results will ensure continuous operation of freight transport between both countries,” says Tomas Pilukas, temporary Head of the Road and Air Transport Policy Group.
Travel permits necessary for freight transport between Lithuania and the Russian Federation are issued to carriers starting 3 May by the Lithuanian transport safety administration.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications attended the mixed commission meeting regarding cargo transportation via international routes using road transport along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Lithuanian National Road Carriers’ Association LINAVA, the Lithuanian Carriers Union and the International Transport and Logistics Alliance.
