Let the Baltic Sea region be linked not only with political or economic bonds, but also by friendly everyday people-to-people contacts," the President said.
According to the President, celebrating Nordic and Baltic holidays together is the best proof that we are not just committed partners in the political field - we are good and reliable friends as well.
At the Midsummer feast, music groups from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway acquainted with their cultures. As the guests arrived to this Midsummer festival, they walked in through a flower-decorated gate - a sign of Lithuanian hospitality. They also enjoyed different national cuisines
This is the second year the Baltic and Nordic countries celebrate together St. John's Day or Midsummer in Lithuania. This year, the festival was held under the patronage of President Dalia Grybauskaitė.
