According to the President, Lithuania and Ireland are linked by good and friendly bilateral relations, shared European values and a like-minded approach to a wide range of global agenda issues. “We cooperate effectively in the European Union in addressing relevant political, economic and security matters together. Today, we must be more united than ever to respond to the challenges of the pandemic, to ensure the security of our citizens and a speedy recovery of our national economies,” the President wrote in his message of congratulations.
Gitanas Nausėda expressed his delight that Lithuanians can learn their mother tongue in Irish schools as well as actively engage in strengthening people-to-people and cooperation contacts between Ireland and Lithuania.
The President wished Ireland long years of prosperity as well as good health and success to all the Irish people around the world.
