It is expected to be done by 2023 when tenders for offshore wind development would be called, the Energy Ministry said, having launched the tender in cooperation with the Lithuanian Energy Agency.
According to the ministry, taking into account the technological development tendencies, economic efficiency and other aspects, wind turbines of 8-16 MW capacity could be installed in the Lithuanian territory of the Baltic Sea. Their height could stand at 140-300 meters, and depending on the chosen capacity, their number could range from 43 to 87.
Taking all this into account, the EIA documents should include assessment of several alternative offshore wind farms in the planned territory.
