"The test once again confirmed that we are ready for unexpected situations. The power plants operated by Ignitis Gamyba ensure the safety and stability of Lithuania's system," Rimgaudas Kalvaitis, CEO at Ignitis Gamyba, said.
The company said the black start function was tested during the trial. The two facilities are the only ones in Lithuania, having such a function and involved in tests on the energy system's restoration following an shutdown.
Similar restoration tests when power supplies is resumed following shutdowns across the country are done annually.
