The main attention during the Baltic Region Air Force training exercise is devoted to improve NATO members' operations control.
The three permanent participants of the exercise, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, are joined by fighter aircraft of NATO Air Policing mission conducting countries, the United Kingdom and the Poland.
The primary goal of the exercise is to continue the integration of the Air Forces of the Baltic States into common NATO system and enhance joint air operation control by cooperating with other countries.
Baltic Region Air Force exercise has been organised for the fifth year by NATO Allied Air Command Ramstein and Combined Air Operations Centre in Germany.
Generally three annual exercises of this kind take place in the Baltic airspace. During the first and third exercises NATO Air Policing mission contingencies coordinate their actions together with allied and partner Air Forces. During the second exercise land and air units develop communications procedures.
