“We see an opportunity to gradually relax restrictions on certain business sectors, and we are acting immediately. Of course, the people working there will have to strictly comply with the established safety requirements”, says Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis.
In addition, operation has been allowed for service businesses located in stationary service provision settings (supermarkets), such as cleaning services, key making, repair services, etc. They are not subject to the requirement to have a separate entrance from the outside. An additional restriction has been imposed on service providers: direct contact with the customer must not exceed 20 minutes.
Operation of non-food stores in entertainment centres and supermarkets remains prohibited. In the first stage of easing the lockdown, operation will only be allowed for those service providers whose activities do not require long contact with the client. Hence, operation of service providers such as beauty salons and sports clubs remains prohibited. Wider opening of services is planned later on, in the second stage.
Under the Government’s decision, both non-food stores as well as household and repair service providers will have to guarantee at least 10 square meters of premises per customer or the ability to serve no more than one customer at a time.
The Ministry of Health will establish additional safety requirements for all such stores and service businesses.
