The report includes data on all EU member states, excluding Malta. The report also presents data on the European Free Trade Association – Switzerland, Norway and Iceland.
In April, 1,067 new automobiles were registered in Latvia, compared to 796 last April.
Vehicle registration decreased only in seven countries, 23 countries registered an increase.
The steepest increase among all the countries included in the report was recorded in Portugal – 53.1%, Lithuania – 36%, Latvia and Spain – 28.7%, and Iceland – 28%.
The largest vehicle registration decrease was registered in Norway – 13.4%, Netherlands – 6.3% and Romania – 5.9%.
1,990 new cars were registered in Estonia, which is 4% more than last April, and seventh lowest increase in Europe.
Also, 1,418 new automobiles were registered in Lithuania.
Altogether, 1,129,829 new automobiles were registered in the countries covered by the report, which is 4.2% less than in April 2013.
During the first four months, 3,919 new cars were registered in Latvia, which is 24.4% more than in last year's first four months. Latvia shows sixth highest increase for all countries covered by the report.
