New routes to Denmark, Greece, Georgia, Cyprus and Sweden have significantly improved the accessibility of Vilnius. This summer the number of regular flights will increase by 24 percent compared to the summer of 2013.
The connections between Lithuania and Sweden will be especially convenient: the airline Air Lituanica will offer seasonal flights to two Swedish cities – Gothenburg and Malmo. Flights will be operated from the middle of June until the end of August twice a week on both routes at evening time. Airline company Air Lituanica is to add one more destination to the summer season flight schedule and will offer flights to the Danish town Billund. This destination shall become the ninth European city that can be reached from Vilnius International Airport with Air Lituanica.
Air Lituanica also flies from Vilnius Airport to Berlin, Brussels, Prague, Munich, Paris and Tallinn. The flights are operated by two aircrafts – Embraer 175 with 86 seats and CRJ 200 with 50 seats.
Hungarian airline Wizz Air offers three new routes: the flights to Kutaisi in Georgia and Larnaca in Cyprus will be operated twice a week and on Saturdays the flights to Kerkyra in Greece. During summer time the flights to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland will be renewed and Norwegian Air Shuttle will introduce a new flight to Stockholm.
Currently 20 airlines are operating from Vilnius Airport and direct flights are available to: Alesund, Barcelona, Bergen, Berlin, Bilund, Bremen, Brussels, Chania, Corfu, Cork, Doncaster, Dortmund, Dublin, Eindhoven, Frankfurt, Gothenburg, Helsinki, Kiev, Copenhagen, Kutaisi, Keflavik, Larnaca, Liverpool, London, Malmo, Milan, Moscow, Minsk, Munich, Oslo, Paris, Prague, Riga, Rome, Saint Petersburg, Stavanger, Istanbul, Stockholm, Tallinn, Tel Aviv, Vienna, Warsaw.
New summer flight schedule will be valid till October 25, 2014.
