"In implementing such a project, we need to know the total cost and the price of the electricity that will be sold to consumers. We also need to know who will be our partners, as well as information on whether the reactor will be capable of working synchronically with Western electricity networks. We have asked Hitachi to evaluate this reactor, as well as find out how many inter-connections we would need with Poland. We also need to find out how we will be able to ensure ourselves with electric energy reserves. Thus, we have a list of almost 80 questions which we will be submitting to the Japanese company," he said.
Meanwhile, Lithuanian Energy Minister Jaroslav Neverovich told the local newspaper Lietuvos rytas earlier this week that there is a good chance that the Visaginas Nuclear Power Plant project could be implemented. He said that this project is a good option for Lithuania, but that the project will not be implemented "at all costs".
