According to Honorary Consul Boleta Senkiene, the consulate will assist in a more effective development of economic and cultural relations not only with Oman, but also with the rest countries of the Gulf Region such as Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Senkiene said that the priority area of business was information technologies, which helped to establish economic relations with the Sultanate of Oman.
"Three years ago they took interest in our information technologies and this cooperation opened the door to a wider market of Oman. Another area of business is production of food industry. The aim of the consulate for the first 6 month of this year is to help Lithuanian businessmen to conclude contracts in these areas of business. There is demand and interest both from Lithuanian businessmen and representatives of Oman," said Senkiene.
The consul also said that the Sultanate of Oman imports 90 percent of products and services necessary for its domestic market, as a result "there are ample opportunities for all exporters in Oman."
