‘The year 2018 is of great importance for both Lithuania and Poland celebrating together their centennial anniversaries’. I very much welcome the close political, economic and cultural ties between our countries, the positive spirit in our bilateral relations and our mutual trust. Today, we can be proud that Lithuania and Poland have become close international community partners sharing common democratic values and goals in the European Union and NATO. I am convinced that these common goals and the challenges of today will inspire us to continue the open dialogue on all matters of interest and will take our partnership to a new level’, reads Prime Minister’s letter.
To celebrate the special anniversary of the independence of Poland and the solidarity of the two nations in pursuit of freedom and independence, the flags of Poland and Lithuania will fly high over the main state buildings and squares on 11 November as provided for in the relevant resolution of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
