The fact of the emergence of this tabloid 'writer' (aspiring to become an influential medium) on lrytas.lt is not surprising, since the web portal still cannot liberate itself from its archetype - 'Komsomolskaya Pravda', famous for spreading lies. It indicates as well that the protest of EAPL was a great success, an undoubtedly correct step. It is testified by the publicity, among other things, that followed the démarche of the members of the parliamentary faction of EAPL and the exposure of cynicism issue of V. Landsbergis as well as conservative party or individual deputies who are in power in Lithuania.
It should be briefly recalled that in 1991, before the bloody events next to the Vilnius TV Tower, the faction of the Association of Poles in Lithuania has issued a statement in which it had stressed the importance of the unity of the residents in the face of extraneous threats, it had declared the active participation of the Polish minority in the country's struggle for freedom and independence. On 29th January 1991, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Lithuania has adopted an amendment to the Law on National Minorities, which was signed by V. Landsbergis. After nearly 20 years of this extremely important act being in force, the same political power - the conservatives - had cancelled the Law. Moreover, now the conservatives are demonstrating publicly its reluctance to reinstate the validity of the law which regulates the rights and obligations of national minorities living in Lithuania.
Arrogant statements of the comment's author regarding the EAPL's démarche - a widely used form of a protest in the parliamentary world - do not only testify the narrow-mindedness, are hypocritical, but also pose a disgrace on journalism in a western country. Yesterday the vice-chairwoman of EAPL, the deputy of the Seimas Vanda Kravčionok has recalled that when 10 years ago, during a solemn meeting in the Seimas on the occasion of the Freedom Defenders Day of Lithuania, conservatives had left the parliamentary room when the Lithuanian President of that time Rolandas Paksas had entered the tribune. The démarche of the conservatives took place without a serious reason - only because they did not accept the former president. The author of the comment obviously has not mentioned that because he has a different and a very clear aim: committing lies like the Soviet Komsomolets, promulgating untruth and spreading rudeness. People with similar ideas should give a shout: 'Viva A. Jančys! Viva the rudness!'
