“The number of passengers flying to Moscow has been rapidly increasing over the recent years. In 2017, 136,000 passengers took this Aeroflot route to Moscow. We are happy to be able to offer an improved choice of departure times in the nearest future,” states the Head of Aviation Services Division of Lithuanian Airports Aurimas Stikliūnas.
According to Aurimas Stikliūnas, many passengers travelling to Moscow use it as a hub for further flights. Thanks to a large selection of connecting flights to other cities in Russia and its neighbouring countries, as well as Asian countries, Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport serves as a transfer hub for many travellers.
Currently, Aeroflot planes depart from Vilnius to Moscow only in the morning, at 05:50 and 11:10. From 1 July, passengers can choose to fly in the evening too due to the new 18:45 flight. Flights from Vilnius to Moscow are operated by Airbus A320 and last 1 hour 30 minutes.
