The largest number of renovated buildings is in Ignalina, 46 projects are being implemented or completed there. Meanwhile, 17 buildings are renovated in Moletai district and Klaipeda, 14 buildings – in Kaunas, 11 blocks of flats – in capital Vilnius.
In the second stage of renovation, the Ministry invited 1,683 residential buildings for renovations and set the target of drawing up investment plans for these buildings and receiving approval of their inhabitant until the end of 2014. At the end of 2013, investment projects were coordinated for 1,332 buildings, i.e. almost 80% of all blocks of flats that participate in the second stage of renovation. 917 renovation projects have received approval of their inhabitants.
The Ministry of Environment also informs that 490 buildings of the second stage have received funding from creditors, 322 buildings are implementing contract work purchases.
As reported, the renovation programme is being implemented since 2005. In almost nine years 500 buildings were renovated. There are a total of 38,000 blocks of flats in Lithuania that need renovation.
