The presentation was attended by: Mayor of Vilnius District Municipality Marija Rekst, adviser to the mayor Aleksandra Černiauskienė, head of the Vilnius district division of the Vilnius Territorial Labour Office Aušra Petrokienė together with the senior specialist Vilija Voronavičienė, entrepreneurs and heads of elderships of Vilnius district.
Congratulating the participants of the meeting, the Mayor of Vilnius District Municipality Marija Rekst, thanked the Vilnius Territorial Labour Office and entrepreneurs operating in the Vilnius district for the close cooperation. "I thank everyone who develops, works and creates new jobs in Vilnius district. I hope that such meetings and joint projects will strengthen cooperation, promote the successful expansion of your business and create jobs for the people of our area, "said the mayor. The mayor of the district also emphasized the successful development of the Small and Medium Business Foundation in the Municipality, which compensates the purchase of new equipment, creation of new jobs and marketing objectives.
Aušra Petrokienė, Head of the Vilnius Territorial Labour Office, thanked all employers of the Vilnius district for a partnership that encourages finding new opportunities for solving unemployment problems. What is more, the representative of the Vilnius Territorial Labour Office briefly presented the overview of projects implemented in 2017 in the Vilnius district.
The goal of local employment initiatives is to bring together the efforts of the local community and the social partners in order to increase the employment of the residents and to develop local socioeconomic infrastructure. In 2017, under the Local Employment Initiative project programme, a total of 12 projects were implemented and 58 new jobs were created. In 2017, 7 projects were implemented in the district of Vilnius, 41 new jobs were created for the unemployed in the district, which is twice as much as in 2016. 554.5 thousand euro were allocated for implementation of projects.
During the meeting, the entrepreneurs who successfully implemented projects of Local Employment Initiative in Vilnius area introduced the results of implemented projects, activities carried out by their companies and working conditions. They presented the products and the uniqueness of their companies. Everyone was able to take part in the discussion, ask business questions and share best practices.

VŠĮ "4RACE" – Company’s activity - vehicle maintenance and repair. Project implementation place - Vilnius district Riešė eldership. 6 new jobs created;
UAB "VILDIKA" – Company’s activity - furniture production. Project implementation place - Vilnius district Bezdonys eldership. 6 new jobs created.
At the end of the presentation the entrepreneurs thanked the Vilnius District Municipality and the Vilnius Territorial Labour Office for their close and sincere cooperation in developing business in the Vilnius district. The municipality has contributed to the Local Employment Initiative project by providing financial support to entrepreneurs from the Small and Medium Enterprise Support Fund.
The Vilnius District Municipality is glad that by cooperating with the Territorial Labour Office the projects of Local Employment Initiatives have been implemented, which directly contributed to the reduction of the unemployment level in Vilnius district.
