The total including money which was transferred to the special account on the eve of this event reaches LTL 134.7 thousand (EUR 39 thousand). The money will be distributed for the disabled children.
The traditional Christmas charity campaign which received the exceptional attention this year is being organized from the inter-war year.
According to the message released by the Municipality of Kaunas city, nearly 200 guests gathered in the Kaunas city Hall. Among the guests – Lithuania's Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas, Honorary Consul at Royal Norwegian Consulate in Kaunas Vytautas Valaitis, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Chile Rimtautas Vizgirda and Honorary Citizen of Kaunas city Regina Varnaite.
The guests were received by Andrius and Jurgita Kupcinskas.
"The moment when you realize that you can contribute to the well-being of the weak person shows the extraordinary maturity of the soul, the strength and the generosity. I would like to thank sensitive members of our society for their sincerity and support," said Mayor of Kaunas city Andrius Kupcinskas.
