Dalia Grybauskaitė wished the President of Estonia happiness, strong health as well as the same unfailing energy and commitment to work for the good of his country and its people as he had done for more than twenty years.
"Our joint work has enabled us to achieve results of key importance to both our nations and to Europe as a whole. I hope that the experience gained by Lithuania during its presidency will have future value to your country," the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
She thanked President Ilves for the firm support that Estonia extended to Lithuania during its presidency - the first among the three Baltic States - of the Council of the European Union.
