The President also took the opportunity to wish the Emperor a Happy New Year, hoping strongly that it will be prosperous and fulfilling for the people of Japan.

As we continue to develop joint economic projects as well as political and cultural ties, we will further contribute to building up the welfare of our nations and bringing our countries and their people closer together," the message of congratulations says.
The President wished His Imperial Majesty and the Imperial Family continued health, happiness and many moments of joy, and she sent her best wishes for the peace and well-being of Japan.
