From now on, the planes to Minsk will be departing from Vilnius 8 times per week.
On the event dedicated to the first plane to Minsk departing ceremony, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Lithuania. Vladimir Drazin said that the direct flights between the cities were to strengthen the cooperation between the countries.
"From the very beginning of the restoration of Independence, Lithuania and Belarus started to actively cooperation in the sphere of economy (). Apart from the bilateral trade and investments, the service sector is very important as well (). The turnover of the transportation service will make up EUR 544 million," said Drazin.
According to the ambassador, as soon as the route Vilnius-Minks-Vilnius was opened, Lithuania was to become the bridge between the East and West.
