"As a city Vilnius is fast in providing services for investors", Artūras Zuokas explains in an exclusive video interview with the Information Daily.
"The 21st century will be the cities century, and more and more people prefer to live in urbanised territories because the services are what they need, as well as the labour possibilities", he says, adding that "Vilnius is not an exception".
According to Zuokas, the number of citizens in the city is growing year-on-year.
Speaking on transport, the mayor says that Vilnius has prioritised public transport and implemented special bus lanes, reasonable ticket prices, and a popular bike sharing system.
In the near future, the city would like to build a new municipality, with some private investors, to provide new houses for long-term rental.
"We are very open and many students are coming here to study", Zuokas says.
Speaking on Lithuania's economic future, he said: "We would like to join the Eurozone in 2015 but, being a member of the European Union, we have freedom of movement and a knowledge of other European countries".
