“We will exploit all means to create a festive atmosphere in the city. For this purpose, we have planned a program for the entire week, but the most events will definitely take place on February 16th. Events will start in the morning and last until the evening, thus we want people to have the opportunity to attend them as much as possible without restraining themselves for transport costs, and at the same time reducing possible traffic jams going to the city centre”, – said Remigijus Šimašius, the Mayor of Vilnius, invitingly.
Passengers will not have to activate tickets in public transport or the mobile app m.Ticket. Passenger control will not check tickets this day, but will watch over the order in public transport.
Moreover, on the 16th of February, residents of Vilnius and guests of the city are welcome to use the parking lots “Park and Ride” located at Ukmergės g. 246 (next to PC Senukai), Sėlių g. 62 (in Žvėrynas) and V. Gerulaičio g. 1 (in front of Technopolis business centre) free of charge.
Changes in public transport routes
Due to the events taking place in the city to commemorate the centenary of the restoration of the state of Lithuania, vehicle traffic will not be allowed in T. Vrublevskio, Šventaragio and Barboros Radvilaitės Streets from 5:00 till 9:00 p.m. and public transport in the said streets will not be allowed from 6:00 till 9:00 p.m.
As a result of the planned changes, buses No. 10, 11 and 33 will travel in changed routes. Their timetables effective on the 16th of February will be published on the 12th of February on the website www.vilniustransport.lt. Information on route changes will also be available in buses going in these routes.
Bus No. 10 going in the route Fabijoniškės–Baltupiai–Markučiai will go to Markučiai from Žaliasis Tiltas via Vilniaus, Jogailos, Pylimo, Bazilijonų, M. Daukšos, Žiupronių and Subačiaus Streets, and then – in the usual route, and it will go from Subačiaus Street to Fabijoniškės via Žiupronių, M. Daukšos, Bazilijonų, Pylimo, Jogailos, Vilniaus and Kalvarijų Streets, then going in its usual route.
Bus No. 11 Žvėrynas–Senamiestis–Užupis will go towards Užupis from Pamėnkalnio Street via Pylimo, Bazilijonų, M. Daukšos, Žiupronių and Subačiaus Streets, then turning to Maironio St. and going towards Užupio St. The bus will go to Žvėrynas in its usual route.
Bus No. 33-ojo Šiaurės miestelis–Rinktinės–Sukilėlių St.–Guriai will go to Guriai from Karaliaus Mindaugo bridge via Arsenalo, T. Kosciuškos, Olandų, Drujos and Sukilėlių Streets then going in its usual route, and it will go from Guriai to Šiaurės miestelis from Sukilėlių Street via Drujos, Olandų, T. Kosciuškos and Arsenalo Streets, via Karaliaus Mindaugo bridge, and then – in its usual route.
On the 16th of February, public transport of Vilnius will run according to the Sunday and holiday timetables.
