The total number of arrivals and departures by local and foreign-owned aircraft rose by an annual 4.9% to 51,200, Lietuvos Oro Uostai (Lithuanian Airports), the operator of the country's three international airports, said.
Vilnius Airport recorded a 2.7% decline in passenger traffic for the 11 months to 3.435 million, accounting for 71% of the total number of passengers. Traffic at Kaunas Airport soared by 64.2% to 1.121 million passengers (23.2%) and Palanga Airport posted a 30.5% increase to 279,200 passengers (5.8%).
A total of 414,700 passengers went through Lithuania's airports in November alone, a rise of 16.2% on the same time last year. Passenger numbers rose by 18% to 332,000 in Vilnius (80.1% of all passengers) and grew by 16% to 65,500 in Kaunas (15.8%), but fell by 9.1% to 17,200 in Palanga (4.1%).
The total number of flights last month increased by 8.1% year-on-year to 4,400 flights.
