Vice Minister E.Kerza and leadership of the National Cyber Security Centre which is responsible for ensuring cyber security of state information resources and critical infrastructure discussed with Lithuanian and Slovenian Heads of State challenges of cyber security in the country, presented briefly the legislation adopted in Lithuania regarding cyber security and defence.
Representatives of the National Cyber Security Centre also invited Slovenian cyber security specialists to take part in large-scale cybersecurity exercise Cyber Shield in Lithuania.
Functions of the National Cyber Security Centre are carried out by the Service for Cyber Security and Telecommunications under the Ministry of National Defence which also includes the Government Communications Centre. The Ministry of National Defence has been authorised to fulfil the rights and obligations of the owner of state-owned enterprise Infostruktūra as of June 8 in order to boost the efficiency of implementation of national cyber security policy. In the future distribution of roles of the cyber security services under the ministry of national defence are planned to be assessed and decisions made on the basis of an efficiency analysis in order to enhance cyber security.
