At a meeting at the Ministry of National Defence the Vice Minister thanked the Swedish guests for lasting support to the Lithuanian Armed Forces and discussed security situation in the region. National efforts to strengthen defence capabilities of the country were also outlined for the members of the Defence Commission.
The guests from Sweden came to Lithuania to get firsthand impressions of the security situation in the region, Lithuania’s security and defence policy, and Lithuania’s civil defence. The Defence Commission of Sweden comprises members of the country’s Parliament, representatives of Sweden’s Ministry of Defence, and experts from Sweden’s defence institutions.
