This year Saint Petersburg was ranked 20th on the list of the most desirable tourist destinations announced by one of the most visited tourist sites in the world TripAdvisor and became the first city of Russia to make it into this ranking. "Vilnius Airport is delighted to resume the flights to the second largest city of Russia: this route will first and foremost meet a large proportion of demand for tourist routes, in particular the segment of time-saving passengers wishing for more travel comfort. We are hoping for the growing passenger traffic in both directions by attracting more arriving passengers from the Russian market, which is highly attractive in terms of aviation and tourism, to Lithuania, which would make a positive impact on the economy of Vilnius city and region," VIA Managing Director Gediminas Almantas says.
It is planned that the plane will take off from Saint Petersburg Pulkovo Airport on Mondays and Fridays at 9.50 and will land in Vilnius at 10.20. The aircraft will depart from Vilnius at 11.35 (the flight time is given at the local time of Vilnius and Saint Petersburg respectively). A 1.5-hour flight ticket will cost almost as much as a train ticket when travelling in a compartment.
Polet Airlines is one of the first private-capital airlines in the Russian Federation.
