Over a quarter, the volume of building construction increased by 0.9 %, that of construction of civil engineering structures – decreased by 1.5% (unadjusted – decreased by 39.2 and 65.9% respectively).
In I quarter 2017, against the respective period of the previous year, the volume of construction work carried out, calendar adjusted, increased by 7.1% (unadjusted – by 8.2%). Against the same period of the last year, volume of building construction increased by 11.2%, that of construction of civil engineering structures – decreased by 3% (unadjusted – increased by 11 and 1.3% respectively).
The share of construction of residential buildings accounted for 23% of total construction work carried out in the country (EUR 84.4 mln), that of construction of non-residential buildings – 49% (EUR 177.2 mln), that of construction of civil engineering structures – 28% (EUR 99 mln).
In I quarter 2017, the volume of construction work carried out abroad amounted to EUR 49.1 mln. Against the previous period, seasonally and calendar adjusted, it decreased by 1.2% (unadjusted – 17.5%); against the respective period of the previous year, calendar adjusted, it decreased by 6.8% (unadjusted – 5.6%).
