An exposition of contemporary Belarusian artists who live and work in Lithuania will give a start to an eventful cultural program. The exposition, Art without Borders, will open at the Union of Artists on 20 September.
While representing the Belarus Days of Culture in Lithuania, Belarusian Ambassador to Lithuania Vladimir Drazhin highlighted that Lithuania and Belarus shared similar cultures and such kind of events helped to get to know the neighbouring countries.
"People become closer to one another during such kind of events and this helps us to better understand the life (...). For example, how to be the neighbours and do not have the conflict which causes only the collapse (...). There are no winners in the war. Everyone perishes in the war. Formally, all people are the winners but they do not get anything except for the deaths and ruin. As a result, the national culture takes up the front position," said Drazhin.
According to the Belarus ambassador, the cultural events, especially if they were taking place in the neighbouring country, contributed to the disclosure of the pearls of the nation.
The Days are organized by the Culture Ministries of Belarus and Lithuania in cooperation with the Embassy of Belarus in Lithuania.
