According to a message on Nord Pool power exchange, the link has been out of service since Thursday evening, with plans to fix it by Saturday night.
After the interconnection went offline in mid-January, electricity supplies between Sweden and Lithuania were off for a week, the power link was offline for 12 hours due to malfunction in early January.
The 700-megawatt interconnection launched regular operations in mid-July after operating in a trial mode from the start of 2016. The 550-mln-euro, 453-kilometer undersea cable linking Lithuania to Sweden was manufactured and laid by Sweden's ABB.
