Some 9.6% of the respondents said they would like to leave Lithuania permanently and 28.9% said they would like to leave, but on a temporary basis. The remaining 61.5% said they were not thinking about emigration.
Some 20.7% of those who said they wanted to leave saw Norway as the most attractive country for emigration and 20.2% thought that it was Britain. Ireland was the third most popular country, at 12.7%.
Further down the list were Sweden (8.7%), Germany (7.6%), the United States (7.5%), Switzerland (5%) and the Netherlands (4.4%), followed by Spain, Belgium, Canada, Italy and Russia.
