The airport said that it welcomed its 3 mlnth passenger for 2016 on Sunday, 48 days earlier than last year.
"We set a new record in October 2016. This is the first time in the airport's history that we have handled three mln passengers within such a short time period", said Vilnius Airport CEO Arturas Stankevicius.
"We hope to pass the three-and-a-half mln passenger mark toward the end of the year," he said.
Eighteen airlines currently operate flights from Vilnius to 57 destinations
