Arian Lewis, Barclays' head of open innovation, says that it was Barclays' Vilnius staff who came up with the idea of expanding the Rise project to Lithuania.
"In don't think there's room for conventional things in the future. Things are going to change. People don't want to go to bank branches that close at 5 p.m.," the paper quoted him as saying.
According to Lewis, Barclays is also looking at virtual and augmented reality startups. These technologies could also help banks in providing customer services in the future.
