"The size of US forces presence in Lithuania will remain similar and will be deployed continuously, but reinforced US forces will bring more modern heavy combat weaponry; force rotation time will be longer, military exercise will become more intensive. The US military presence will be more visible and more effective from the military point of view," the Lithuanian Minister of National Defence says.
Lithuania is ready to provide full host nation support to the Allies battalion group size combat unit, as well as to support elements.
Currently over 300 US troops are participating in joint exercises together with Lithuanian troops in Lithuania.
Lithuanian population approve of presence of Allied troops and their equipment in our country. According to data of recent public opinion survey about 82 percent of the population approve of constant deployment of NATO Allies in the territory of Lithuania. 72 percent of Lithuanian population thinks that NATO Allies should send more troops and military equipment to Lithuania.
