"There can be no justification for such brutal acts of criminal violence against indiscriminate victims. Together with the friends of Belgium, we strongly condemn terrorism in all its forms. We stand in support and solidarity with your country and its citizens," the President wrote in her message of condolences.
The President wished fortitude to the families and loved ones of the victims as well as strength and determination to Belgium in overcoming the consequences of these tragic events.
Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has extended condolences to the Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, as well as people of Belgium and other countries over the tragic loss of the people killed in explotions at Brussels.
"I express deep condolences to the families, the loved ones, as well as all the people of Belgium and other countries, affected by this heart-breaking tragedy. We stand with you in this difficult hour of bereavement, hoping for fast recovery of the wounded and the continued strength of the nation", reads Prime Minister's letter.
Expressing solidarity with the Belgian society in this difficult hour for the entire European Union, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has reiterated that any act of terrorism is useless and reprehensible means of achieving political ends.
