"2016 is a critical year for Ukraine. It is vital to clearly define Ukraine's aspirations, advance implementation of key reforms, and seek as great public awareness on security policy, European and Euro-Atlantic integration as possible in the context of Ukraine's integration into the EU and the upcoming NATO Summit. Lithuania will remain Ukraine's supporter through bilateral relations, active efforts in the framework of the European Union, and performance at the NATO Contact Point Embassy in Ukraine," Ambassador of Lithuania in Ukraine HE Marius Janukonis said.
The guests engaged in an open discussion with Editor of International News with Lithuanian National Radio and Television Vykintas Pugačiauskas on the issues of the Foreign and Security Policy and Lithuania's assistance to Ukraine. Other points of discussion were the cooperation to implement the reforms efficiently, to tear down biased myths concerning NATO and the EU in the Ukrainian society, and to promote civic involvement.
The event for roughly 30 influential moulders of public opinion was co-organised by the Embassy of Lithuania in Ukraine and the Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania.
