"At present final outfitting is under way at the logistics center of Maxima Eesti at Kurna, and in accordance with plans the first delivery all over Estonia will take place in January next year," Maxima Eesti spokesperson Katja Ljubobratets told BNS. She said construction has proceeded as planned.
The logistics center of Maxima will have a dry storage facility, a cold storage facility and a storage facility for packaging complete with 130 ramps for the acceptance of goods that will serve approximately 300 trucks daily. The new center will be run with a manpower of 350.
Construction of the logistics center started in July 2014.
Maxima Eesti is the Estonian arm of the retail group Maxima Grupe, which operates 532 stores in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Bulgaria. Maxima stores in Estonia number 75, 19 of which are Maxima XX supermarkets and two Maxima XXX hypermarkets.
