According to Germanas, this year the Nordic and Baltic countries implement a number of new initiatives, aimed at securing the countries' joint response to security challenges facing the region, as well as challenges in the fields of energy and strategic communications.
Participants of the NB8 meeting were also acquainted with an interim report on NB8 activities, which was drafted by Denmark and gives an overview of the Nordic-Baltic cooperation in 2015.
Denmark coordinates the NB8 activities this year. In 2016, Latvia will take over the coordination of the agenda of this informal cooperation initiative that was launched in 1992.
