According to the President, Lithuania and Laos need to put in more effort into developing mutually beneficial economic ties. The two countries can cooperate in the fields of computer science, civil and industrial engineering, agriculture, and food processing.
The President pointed out that Lithuania invited students from Laos to choose a course of studies from a wide range of programs in English at local universities.
Even though Lithuanians still know very little about Laos, this country is attractive for tourism; therefore, it is important that the Ambassador presents his country and culture in Lithuania.
Sithong Chitnhothinh is the second Lao ambassador accredited to Lithuania. The diplomat started his career in 1986. He served in embassies in Poland, Thailand and Japan. Since 2015 he is Ambassador to Germany, residing in Berlin.
