Following the ceremony, the two sides discussed prospects for the development of bilateral relations in the economic and cultural fields, and possibilities to strengthen the partnership between the two nations through mutual engagement in EU projects. The officials expressed their wish to collaborate more closely in the context of bilateral and multilateral relations, as well as to strengthen ties between the Baltic and Adriatic Seas. The interlocutors also discussed the situation in South Eastern and Eastern Europe.
Lithuania established diplomatic relations with Croatia on 18 March 1992.
