Recent years have witnessed steady development of bilateral relations between Lithuania and Croatia. The Office of the Croatian Embassy to Sweden has been opened in Vilnius, while the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Austria has set up its Office in Croatia. Both countries plan to open their embassies in respective countries. The project of communicating Lithuania's EU integration experience to Croatian institutions has been underway since 2014.
The two countries intend to boost cooperation within the framework of infrastructure projects (motorways, ports and energy). Croatia is interested in Lithuania's experience in the construction of the Liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Klaipėda, which is related to the plan to build a LNG terminal that would connect the Adriatic and Ionian gas pipelines on the Croatian island of KRK. The terminal would make Croatia a regional energy centre and ensure independent supply of gas not only to the EU member states and the closest neighbours but also to Ukraine.
