"Kazakhstan is Lithuania's most important partner in Central Asia. We have had very good political and economic relations. I hope that the meetings with country's President, Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Parliament will provide an additional impetus for our cooperation in logistics, education, science and culture and tourism", says the Head of the Government.
Three intergovernmental agreements are expected to be signed, i.e. on mutual protection of classified information, cooperation in the fight against money laundering, and on cooperation in the veterinary field.
Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius and the delegation will participate in the two economic forums: the bilateral Lithuanian-Kazakhstan Business Forum and VIII Astana Economic Forum "Invest in Kazakhstan". The Head of Government will make a presentation on Lithuania's investment environment and business opportunities.
"I hope that our business delegation, consisting of a record number of 80 Lithuanian businessmen, will establish useful contacts, which will subsequently translate into real projects for the benefit of the people of both countries", notes the Prime Minister.
During his visit to Kazakhstan, the Prime Minister will also visit Lithuanian communities based in Kazakhstan, mainly Lithuanian deportees from Karaganda and Lithuanians from Almaty.
