Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Tamar Beruchashvili bestowed the Order of Honour on the Ambassador in recognition of his five years in Georgia filled with meaningful activities. Georgia's Foreign Minister underlined that the decoration, first of all, acknowledged the Ambassador's personal contribution to the promotion of friendly relations between the people of Lithuania and Georgia, his energy and love of Georgia. Beruchashvili also thanked the Ambassador for his continued support for Georgia on the country's path to European integration, help and advice on major reforms.
Besides his intensive political and diplomatic activity in Tbilisi, the Ambassador has also taken a keen interest in Georgia's culture and communicated with people of the country. During the tenure, Georgian Journal, Georgia's largest English-language weekly, announced Ambassador Paslauskas as the best Georgian-speaking Ambassador. He was also awarded honorary citizenship by the city of Khashuri and received the title of "Ambassador of the Year" from the Georgian public broadcaster's TV show "Etalon". Paslauskas has particularly actively interacted with young diplomats – taken part in discussions, lectures and held meetings with members of the Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University's "Young Diplomats' Club".
Since 1992, the Order of Honor has been awarded to citizens who participated in approving and sustaining governing, defense, law and order, farming, health protection, as well as for achievements in the fields of science, education, culture, literature, art and sports. Paslauskas is the first Ambassador to receive the Order of Honor from Georgia's incumbent President Margvelashvili.
