The nominee of the Liberal Movement Member of Parliament Remigijus Simasius is likely to win the mayoral race in Vilnius. With results in from 99 of 151 polling districts he is in the lead against incumbent Mayor Arturas Zuokas – 61.04% of votes against 37.78%.
Businessman Visvaldas Matijosaitis, the leader of the United Kaunas public election committee, should become mayor of Kaunas. With results submitted from 74 of 91 polling districts he has 63.57% of votes and is in front of incumbent Mayor Andrius Kupcinskas who has 36.43% of votes.
Meanwhile, people of Klaipeda have re-elected Mayor Vytautas Grubliauskas of the Liberal Movement. With results in from all 54 polling districts it transpired that he was voted in by 75.67% of voters. 24.33% of ballots were for Conservative MP Agne Bilotaite.
Arturas Visockas has won the mayoral election in Siauliai, he won in 33 of 34 polling districts and received 68.24% of the total votes. Whereas 31.76% of voters supported Valerijus Simulik. The two candidates entered the mayoral race as leaders of public election committees.
