Linkevičius has elaborated on the fact that during its non-permanent presidency of the UN Security Council, Lithuania gets valuable experience and is ready to share it with Kazakhstan.
The Minister congratulated the guest on the occasion of the anniversary of 550 years of the state of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the discussions focused on the intensifying bilateral relations including the official visit to Kazakhstan of the Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius scheduled in May, 2015.
Linkevičius emphasized that Kazakhstan is an important economic partner of Lithuania in Central Asia as seen in the growing bilateral trade and enhancing cooperation in the fields of transport and logistics.
The Minister appreciated the decision of the "Kazakhstan Railways" to build a loading terminal in the seaport of Klaipėda. He also stressed the importance of good conditions of cargo transit through the territory of Russia for bilateral economic cooperation.
Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs invited his guest to attend the International Transportation and Logistics Conference "New Silk Road, a reliable link between Europe and Asia" in Klaipėda on June 5-6, 2015.
