On 15-16 February, Lithuania's Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrius Krivas participated in the 8th Europe-Ukraine Forum in Lodz, Poland. At the discussion on the EU-Ukraine negotiations, Lithuania's Foreign Vice-Minister stressed that while Ukraine was fighting against Russia's aggression and trying to implement reforms the need of systematic assistance of Western countries and institutions was of vital importance, and it should include economic, financial, humanitarian, advisory and military assistance to Ukraine.
According to Vice-Minister, fast and effective implementation of the Association Agreement, including Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), is at the core of the reform in Ukraine, with the tasks of fighting corruption, the reform of energy sector and improvement of business and investment climate.
"The consultation on this agreement cannot grant any rights or leverage to Russia to further delay the implementation of the DCFTA or to force us review the provisions of the agreement," said A.Krivas.
